Nursery Decor & Theme

If you did not know, we are expecting a baby boy on September 25th, and writing this I am currently 35 weeks pregnant so we are almost there! During the past 8 months we have had many renovations done to our home from our basement to a new family room. We are now currently working on the kitchen as well as we are doing an addition and expanding our current kitchen BUT during this time frame I also was purchasing items for our baby boy's nursery. After a few months of renovations and being no where near done, we decided it was time to empty the spare room, and put the nursery together so we are prepared! I had this vision of wanting a neutral colored room with all neutral colored items and a safari animal theme. One of the reasons I chose to do neutral is because when we decide to have our second, we can reuse almost everything or at least the big items!

Therefore on Instagram I have been sharing a bunch of pictures of the nursery in sections and I have received many, many questions about the items, decor and even paint colors in the room so I figured sharing everything in a blog may make it easier for everyone to have it all in one place!
In the image to the left, the dresser is from Wayfair, mirror is a 30 inch mirror from Hearth & Hand at Target, Giraffe is from Amazon, Elephant is from H&M and then the other items I could not link. The changing table basket was from Etsy but there are so many options out there for something with that style and then the laundry basket is from Home Goods.
Link to my LTK with direct links to most of these items is here.

I received a lot of questions for the items that are on the shelves as well. The stacking toys, animal prints, and blocks are linked here on my LTK! As far as some of the other items, direct links are below -
Shelves from At Home
Rolling Giraffe from Hobby Lobby
Rolling Elephant from Hobby Lobby
White Elephant from At Home
The shelves were very easy to hang up. They did need two nails on either side of the shelf in the wall but I was very surprised with how well they hung and how flat against the wall they went. I haven't had any issues with them since hanging them up :)

One of my favorite things about the room is how everything flows so well! All the wood tones match and go together perfectly and the safari theme was so fun to decorate the room with! We went with a white crib because like I mentioned above it is gender neutral so we can use it again and white just goes with everything!
#1 item in the picture to the left that I received many requests for was the olive tree. This olive tree is from Amazon and is definitely more affordable than many other options out there. It came in the smallest box so I was a little nervous because some reviews weren't great but once you take it out and fluff it up, it looks perfect! I purchased the basket the tree is in from Marshalls and then filled the basket with moss around it to make it look planted. (There is a reel on my Instagram with the step by step process on how to plant the olive tree!) All other items from this picture are linked here on my LTK and only item that is not exact is the ottoman. I found that at Home Sense for $49.99 but the one I linked looks something like it! The animal prints are also amazing! I love them and ordered these off of Etsy! The quality of the image came out great and I printed them at Walmart.
We completed the board and batten during the winter which is the wood detail on the wall behind the crib. I had picked a neutral color knowing this would eventually be our nursery and what my plan would be. If you are looking for instructions on how to install the board and batten, please refer to my last blog. For the paint colors I used in this room -

I decided on Strand of Pearls by Benjamin Moore for the board and batten, which in this image actually looks more gray, but it is very tan in person.
As for the walls, I used to have Revere Pewter in here but I wanted to brighten everything up so I went with Simply White by Benjamin Moore and I haven't looked back!

Almost my whole house is this color now and I just love how everything goes so well with it. It's definitely a more "warm" white rather than a harsh hospital white if you know what I mean? But that is also why I am so in love with it.
Then lastly I wanted to share pictures of the closet! There are only a few links to really share here for this portion because almost all items were purchased from Home Goods, Home Sense, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx. I do love how the closet came out though and how organized it is. I saw somewhere on Pinterest how to organize everything like this in the closet and kind of ran with it! It will all stay in one place for a while until our little babe is up and running around so at least I can look at it and admire it for a little while :P
My favorite part was purchasing the book shelf from Walmart, turning it on it's side and then adding my own natural wood legs to it. It was a super easy DIY and the bookcase only took 20 minutes to put together. Such an easy way to organize everything but also a way to make it look cute at the same time!
Some items from the closet are linked here on my LTK.

Hope you enjoyed my nursery reveal and all the direct links! There are more on my Instagram in my story highlight for the nursery and you also can just check my LiketoKNOWit to find more direct links!
I know it has been a while since I posted and I apologize! We did not realize the renovations would take this long and then with the baby coming we have been so busy! I hope to be able to post more as the renovations slowly come to an end ... especially the brand new addition/kitchen!
XOXO Thank you for your support as always
