This is definitely one of my favorite projects to date! I had so much fun doing this DIY and I am SO HAPPY with how it came out. I wanted to do something in this bathroom to liven it up a bit. First thing I did was redecorate it thinking that was all it needed. New shelf, new decor, new mirror, etc. BUT I wanted to do something more...

SO I got this idea to paint a stencil on the wall instead of doing wallpaper because if I ever do get sick of the stencil, I can paint right over it :). I had a vision in mind to use botanical flowers. I searched on Amazon and of course I found exactly what I was looking for!

At first I thought I would use two stencils but then after looking at the layout on the wall, 3 was definitely the way to go. I went and bought paint in the color Louisburg Green by Benjamin Moore which is my moms cabinet color and I love it so that is where I got that idea. I also purchased a few different size brushes including one that is an artists brush so its very small.

I prepped the space and just went for it. I taped all sides of the stencil with scotch tape and began to put paint in the gaps of the stencil. I quickly learned my brush was too big and I used WAY to much paint because the paint bled through which made the two stencils complete blobs. At first I was very nervous to keep going but then remembered I bought the artists brush for this reason.

I painted back over the two blobs with the original wall color of Simply White by Benjamin Moore and then I started in a different spot on the wall with the stencils. Therefore, I planned to start from the top down but ended up going from the bottom to the top and it worked out fine. I taped the stencils back up on the wall, used the artists brush with A LOT LESS paint and began to paint the openings of the stencil. Once I was done with the stencil, I didn't wait for it to dry or anything, just pulled it off and they came out PERFECT!

I wanted a painted whimsical look so I was not looking for complete perfection. I continued this process until the entire wall was covered and I wish you could have all seen my face when it was complete! :) I was SO happy. One other thing I would do was dab the back of the stencils with paper towel to prevent any extra paint from getting on the wall or ruining how the stencil should look. This really helped especially towards the end since you have used the stencil many times.

On a whim I decided I wanted to paint the laundry doors green to tie in these flowers and I am so glad I did. It completely finished off the bathroom and made such a statement.

This was such an easy DIY, truly, and anyone could do it! I can't wait to stencil somewhere again in the future!
